Interested in volunteering?
Steps to becoming a program volunteer with Oak Tree:
Fill out the volunteer application below.
We will contact you for an interview via phone or zoom.
Complete background check.
We will schedule an in person meeting to determine the best area of ministry for you to volunteer in & give you a tour of Oak Tree.
Attend a volunteer training & onboarding meeting (currently held twice a year - next one being April 7th 3:00-5:30pm RSVP HERE).
Attend a Lunch & Learn event or watch the recorded presentation.
Sign volunteer release waiver.
Visit during the program time of the area of ministry you’re interested in volunteering with to shadow another volunteer.
You will then be ready to jump into regularly volunteering with us at Oak Tree!
Expectations of an oak tree volunteer:
Attendance to the program for your area of ministry at least once a week for the semester in which you begin (January-May, June-August, September-December).
If anything prevents you from being able to attend you will let the program leader know as soon as possible so that they can prepare for your absence.
If life events prevent you from being able to regularly attend the program you will pause volunteering until your schedule better allows for consistency in order to build trusting relationships with our neighbors.
