Get paid to build a brighter future!

We’re looking for young Leaders aged 14-22 who are ready to go on a journey of self-discovery and explore career options, all while getting paid! If you’re ready to become a Leader in your own life and community, we want to hear from you!

Click the button below to apply for Oak Tree’s newest program, YouLead.

Volunteer & Partner Opportunities:

YouLead won’t be successful without YOU!

A job will get you out of poverty, but a community will keep you out.

YouLead is about more than finding a job, it’s about building social capital and supporting our students as they confidently grow into the whole person God intentionally and uniquely created them to be!

What if our kids didn’t have to learn to survive whatever the streets gave them but instead had access to opportunity and options for their futures? The opposite of poverty is options! YouLead will open the door for each student to choose their own path to success and become the leading change agents in their own lives and our community.

It takes a village and we would love for you to be part of ours! We believe everyone will have to play a part to create meaningful, lasting change in our city. Together we can go much farther. We’re excited to invite you to consider what role you can play as we create a “pipeline to possibilities” right here in Gate City!

We are looking for 4-6 Allies to help launch our 1st Cohort and commit to walk alongside our Leaders from April-July, 2024. We understand life is full & can have unexpected turns, but we ask that you consider the following schedule to determine if you can commit the time it will take to build a meaningful relationship with our Leaders in this season.

Schedule:

  • Sunday, April 7, 3:00-5:30 - Volunteer Training

  • Sunday, April 14, 2:00-5:00 - YouLead Retreat Day, Camp Hargis in Chelsea (all other dates will be at Oak Tree)

  • Saturdays, 12:00-1:00 - April 20, 27, May 4, 11, 18 & 25

  • Sunday, 3:00-6:00 - July 28 - Graduation Family Dinner

  • June & July ally lunch hours TBD (once a week 1 hr commitment based on ally’s schedule)

Lunch will be an important time for our Leaders to get a break, connect with one another, & get to know their Allies.

Click the button below for dates that meal donations are needed.

We will send an exact head count for the date that you choose. For lunches we expect between 10-20 people, for retreat day & family dinners we expect 15-30 people.

You are welcome to drop the meals off earlier in the week or day of. If you'd like to stay to serve the meal & join the class for lunch you are welcome to do that as well (we just ask that no more than 3 people stay in order to not overwhelm the class).

We’re looking for business professionals to partner with us in a variety of ways, we’d love to hear your ideas on what you can contribute! Begin the conversation with Krisy at the button below.
